Things are moving forward with the move. I have a new candidate for the Clinic. A lovely ambitious young woman with an eye for business and a heart for medicine. Things are still in the very early stages of negotiations, but I am grateful to have found someone who feels appropriate.

Things have been evolving at 360 Health Care as well. This fall has brought many request for psychotherapy, and for the past 2 weeks I have been interviewing potential therapists for our space. As a business woman the goal is to have the rooms at 360 in use as much as possible. As the office manager its always important to find that feeling; the click, the connection, the chemistry between practitioners. I feel more hope and inspiration for our urban medicine oasis than I have felt in a long time. The possibilities for new growth and evolution are so tangible. It is a tough time to leave! And yet, I couldn't leave her with anything less.

Potential Timeline #2:  New practitioner comes in the 2nd week of January for 4 weeks to shadow patients with me, learn the business ropes, and transition her own practice to the space. Valentines day: Goodbye party. End of Feb: Final transitions and move.
March 1st - in like a Lion! (Out like a Lamb.)

Homeopathy, Haters, and Social Media

Im astounded by the amount of vehement negative press that homeopathy generates in Twitter. I tweeted on Saturday about my Jan Scholten Seminar on Minerals and the Periodic Table and not one but Three people retweeted me. Two called it "deluded nonsense" and one with a link to African AIDS treatments that an esteemed teacher is supposedly illegally involved in. http://www.theonebox.eu/

     As an aside, it seems Jan Scholten gave a group of Kenyans with advanced AIDS a single homeopathic remedy in a hospital setting. There was greater than 90% recovery in appetite, weight gain and opportunistic infections resolution as a result of taking the remedy. This was not done as an official clinical trial, and it seems the Kenyan government was not appraised of the people getting the remedy which is a prerequesite for African AIDS clinial trials. This last part seems to be the beef that the twitterer holds with the work thats been done. Is it possible that because it is also a non-patentable very low cost and apparently effective remedy he also has a problem with it?

I feel resentful and impatient that 100 years after the Flexner Report it is STILL necessary to try and debunk one branch of medicine that is quietly doing its own work to heal and cure disease.  Its like trying to prove that one religion is better than another! Really, are we not all working towards the same end result?

Past. Present. Future.

Im excited about this new blog posting from The Wright Doctor dot com. I am starting to find my writing voice regarding fertility & treatment. Exciting, because there is a book in me. And a baby. And a new degree. And a whole life ahead. Sometimes I wish I was 17 not 37. Then again, the past ten years have been so great I wouldnt give them up for anything.

Its break time from today's kitchen adventures. Squash soup is simmering ready to be pureed for dinner, and squash seeds are roasted with tamari and olive oil. Its the quiet hour between socializing and preparing, and I'm taking a minute to look over my new wordpress website. www.thewrightdoctor.com

I decided to switch for the wordpress sophistication. The ability to have people sign up for new entries and the multiple linking ability is superior for my long term needs - and, once I actually need a full website I will own the domain. However, I find the wordpress sight harder to navigate and understand. I am taking some time to read abut pingbacks and permalinks, before I fully transition.  Meanwhile, a quick post on a domestic saturday afternoon.

Year 3, Session 1

I have been taking a Master Homeopathy class for the past 2 years. Its a few weekends a year, and in June my partner and I went to Vancouver to take a weekend course I had missed the previous year. We went to Van in part to take the course, to have some vacation time, and also to city-shop for potential future livability. Vancouver itself failed for my partner - she found the city dirty, the people unfriendly, and the overall city vibe to "big city" for her.

Seattle, on the other hand, won both of our hearts. The food was delicious, the people friendly, the shopping and coffee divine. The Smoked Salmon Benedict !!! And, a looming impressive mountain and serene salt water bay in the same city...priceless.... The only downfall was a serious lack of decaf black tea available - a note to the wise, BYODBT.  Of course, a move to the west coast is still a few years away, and dependent on a series of events falling like dominos that we are just in the process of setting up.

Todays course is on Miasms and Nosodes, this hours session on fungal remedies. This course has elevated me several eschalons in my case taking and prescribing ability from where I was 2 years ago. www.louisklein.com, www.luminoshomeopathy.com. I have consoled myself on the acupuncture front with the knowledge that I do have this whole other aspect my my training. I will perfect and focus on my homeopathic knowledge base for the next year at Akari. Meanwhile,  Lisa and I can both  figure out where we want to settle for the long term, and what kind of graduate school we will each pursue....maybe have a baby.

On The Rocks

I just figured out I probably wont be able to practice acupuncture in the States due to their TCM Masters Degree based classroom hours requirements. Im crushed. I do so much acupuncture every week. I rely on it for my fertility treatments. Who will I be as a Dr without it?
